Islamic Duas

This Dua was supplicated by Ibraheem (peace be upon him) when Allâh Almighty had shown Ibraheem (peace be upon him) the place (Makkah) where he was supposed to build the House of Allâh and Ibraheem (peace be upon him) had initiated the construction of the Ka’bah along with his son, Ismaeel (peace be upon him). In this Dua Ibraheem (peace be upon him) beseeches Allâh Almighty to accept their effort in the task they had undertaken, forgive their sins, and bless them generously with the fruits of their labor.

The message contained in this Ayah of The Qurân is that believing Muslims are fully conscious of Allâh’s mercy and His compassion for them. They, are aware of the fact that their existence is only by Allâh’s will, and that everything they enjoy is granted by Him, alone. These cognizant and thankful believing Muslims also know full well that they do not need to please anyone except Allâh, alone, and hence they do not seek the help of any other being, whether alive, or dead, human, or non-human. These are people who find peace and serenity in the remembrance of Allâh, alone, without associating any partners with Him. Hence, they live in accordance with Allâh’s commandments and do good deeds for the sole purpose of earning Allâh's benevolence and good pleasure, and hope and expect for Allâh’s forgiveness and an exceptional reward in the Hereafter, as has been promised to such people in The Qurân

This Dua is derived from the event when the private parts of Adam and Hawwa (peace be upon them) were exposed because they disregarded Allâh’s warning about the schemes and plots of Satan and became victims of Satan’s ploy. Moreover, this Dua and the Ayah of the Quran from which it is derived, highlight the inherent modesty of human beings. Hence, when Adam and Hawwa (peace be upon them) found themselves in this awkward situation they were immediately repentant and sought Allâh’s forgiveness with the words of this Dua

The feelings one experiences when about to wear a new garment are definitely different to those when wearing an old, used garment. One is eager to see how one would look like in the new garment.

One or more of the following Duas (Supplications) are to be made when one lies down to sleep. One should put one’s soul in Allâh’s care from the moment one goes to sleep and is unconscious, seeking His forgiveness and blessings, until one wakes up.

One does not know what one may encounter after leaving the safety of one’s home. But a good Muslim always puts his trust in Allâh and knows with certainty that whatever he encounters, good, or bad, will take place with the will of Allâh and therefore he, or she, is at peace with their fate and expect the best from Allâh
