Alhamdu lillahil-lathee kasanee hatha (aththawb) warazaqaneehi min ghayri hawlin minnee wala quwwah.
‘All Praise is for Allâh who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, with no power or might from myself.’
The feelings one experiences when about to wear a new garment are definitely different to those when wearing an old, used garment. One is eager to see how one would look like in the new garment. Indeed, if one looks good in the new garment, it is a prime opportunity for Shaitân to instill pride and vanity in one’s heart, when, in reality, all praise is for Allâh, alone. One should, hence, remember and thank Allâh when wearing a new garment and thereby invite His blessings.
