This program is basically designed for those children and adults who want to take the first step in learning to read The Quran. The course begins with learning the basic Arabic alphabet and progresses onwards. This program enables the student to be able to read The Quran with the rules of tajweed (correct pronunciation) In’sha’Allaah. Moreover, this program also includes a three-step module of the Noorani Qaida (a basic pronunciation book of some of the frequently occurring words, difficult words, and lengthy words of The Quran). Most students are usually able to complete this brief book within one to three months. We teach student how to pronounce various letters of the Arabic alphabet from specific places of the mouth and throat (makharij) according to the rules of the Arabic language. This is known as tajweed in the Arabic language and is necessary for correct pronunciation while reciting The Quran.

The next module of The Quran Course is learning of The Quran itself, as well as other obligatory and optional aspects of fundamental Islamic belief, knowledge, practices, and rituals. The duration of this course is usually 18 to 24 months. It includes:

Quran Memorization Course:

• Memorization of the last 30 Surahs of The Quran
• Memorization of selected Surahs of The Quran in order of importance, such as: Surah Kahaf, Surah Yaseen, Surah Ha-Meem al-Sajdah, Surah Waqiah, Surah Muzammil, Surah Taghabun, Surah Yusuf, Surah al-Mulk, Surah al-Rahman, Surah al-Jumuah, Surah al-Qiyamah, and Juz ‘Amma
• Memorization of the whole Quran

Tajweed Course:

It is obligatory upon every Muslim to read The Quran with tajweed. Tajweed is an Arabic word and refers to the art of recitation of Quran. It is a set of rules which govern how the Quraan should be read. This means the proper pronunciation of the words, proper articulation, proper inflection, proper accent, emphasis on letters and words at the right time and place, as well as recitation at the proper pace. This course teaches the rules of tajweed and students learn the correct pronunciation of all the letters of the Arabic alphabet. The instructors expounds upon various rules of tajweed, including Ikhfa, Ghunna, Ikhfa Meem Saakin, Idgham, Qalqala, Qalb, and Idgham Meem Saakin. Students practice the rules with the instructor and learn how to apply the rules during recitation of The Quran.

Tafseer & Translation Course:

This course is only meant for those who are already able to recite The Quran with tajweed as this is the first right of The Quran upon its reader, and thereafter, to be understood thoroughly. Learning some basic rules of Arabic grammar is a prerequisite of this course as this helps the students to understand the Arabic language which is the language of The Quran. E-Online Quran teachers, therefore, first teach Arabic grammar to the students of this course for approximately one to two months prior to beginning the Tafseer and Translation modules.
